Go Grant!!

Grant just started his first season playing Basketball. He loves it and is looking for any moment to shoot hoops with his Dad. Honestly, I think Paul loves that Grant is playing basketball more than Grant. He's quite the proud parent of his budding athlete son. Well, Grant has had a few practices, and he's done fairly well, he's playing with kids that have played last year, so he's trying to learn all the basics. He plays for the Grizzlies and they had their first game this last Saturday. Talk about cute! There is my son, this tall (a head taller than the average player), mop haired toe head skipping down the court not really knowing what is going on. I think Grant was happy he was playing in a real game, and every now and then got his hands on the ball. I had to repeatedly remind Paul that this was Grants first game. I think like every father, Paul was really hoping his son would be the star player, you know, the naturally gifted child that steps onto a court for the first time and is shooting 3 pointers and grabbing every rebound. Unfortunately the Grizzlies lost, but not without a fight. Grant had plenty of playing time and he said that he had fun besides the fact that they had lost. I'm sad to say I didn't get any good pics of the game, my camera decided to conveniently stop working after I took these pictures. Grant is #25, hard to miss!

Darn! It looks as though my camera did worse than I thought, the picture below for some reason won't come all the way up...sorry, at least you can see the tall mop head!

Oops!

Paul got in a little shall we say, fender bender a few weeks ago. Yes, the car is totalled. The Sentra was a good car and she will be missed. Luckily Paul walked away from the accident unscathed(thank heavens for seat belts!), actually he did have a little burn on his arm from the air bag deploying. I think secretly Paul is happy the car is gone because, well, now he has to get a newer, nicer one, ah shucks! Oh, and thank heavens for Allstate!

It's about time!

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted anything (Amy, I'm talking to you). I've been meaning to, but you know how life gets...busy! Paul has been extremely buried with his last couple weeks of school. He's had a few 2nd round interviews (which he now has full time offers for) end of semester projects, papers and finals, which will all be over this Thursday!! Yea for Paul, only 1 more semester until G-day! We are now in the process of trying to figure out which company would fit our families needs best. We'll be making a decision here in the next couple of weeks. We look forward to the not so distant future of having a back yard, some stability for our kids, and most of all a paycheck!!

So...Happy belated Thanksgiving! We spent our Turkey Day in McKinney, TX with the Burningham's in their beautiful home. I'm proud to say that I prepared the Turkey this year, well, Paul did help me, and it actually turned out! I was sure that after baking in the oven it would still be frozen in the middle. We had a great time cooking in Ken and Lisa's deluxe kitchen. You know... cooking is actually a lot more fun in a fancy kitchen. Who knew, all I needed was a state of the art, high-tech kitchen to really enjoy cooking. The kids got along just splendidly. Grant and Ellie are professional Wii players now, and Paul and I aren't too shabby either. Most nights we stayed up late with Ken and Lisa playing the "Brain" game. If you haven't played this game yet you should, beware though...it's very addicting, but it's guilt free playing because it really does give your brain quite a work out! We ended each night in the Media room watching a movie on the big screen with a big bowl of ice cream (can't get better than that can it?). I am so thankful for family and that we live in such a place that it is easy to hop on a plane or jump in our car and see family wherever they may be. We love and are thankful for all of them!
