Happy Birthday Paul!

Happy Birthday my love! 33 years old...whew, you're an old man ; ) I hope you felt loved on your special day! You are an amazing father and husband! I'm so happy to be able to spend the rest of our lives and eternity together! I love you with all my heart! The kids are so lucky to have you as their Dad. I'm sometimes jealous that you are the more "fun" parent. Each night you wrestle with the kids, tickle them, give them horsey rides to their beds while I'm sitting their annoyed that we can't just hurry and get bed time over with. I know any time I'm in a bad mood you know just what to do to get me laughing. You have a talent of making me forget why I'm mad at you, or why I'm upset in general. I envy the way you can turn a negative situation into a positive one. Like when I brush Zachary's teeth, he'll scream and scream at me and all I can think is, "you little stinker, just hold still and stop crying", but not you. If Zachary starts screaming while you're brushing his teeth you somehow manipulate the situation and start singing silly songs or turning it into some kind of game so that the next thing I know, Zachary is smiling and laughing as you brush his teeth. How do you do that? You do that kind of stuff ALL the time! You are a great manipulator (in a good way). I love that you like to cook with me in the kitchen, I love that you call me every day just to say hi, I love that you are such a thoughtful gift giver, I love that you like be affectionate with me, I love that your hands are like 4 times the size of mine, I love playing games with you, I love that you are crazy about our children, and I love that you cannot wait to have another baby! Of course there are lots more things I love about you! Happy Birthday, you are loved!

Paul and Grant's finished lego project. Such a good Daddy!

Wow, Glow you are sooo sweet. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate everything you did for me on my birthday. First, you made all my favorite things for dinner. Ritz cracker fried chicken, shrimp cocktail, mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and the always awesome Beulah Mae cake (don’t you just love how everything is kinda the same color?). Second, you let me take a nice nap after church. Third, you wouldn’t let me help clean anything up around the house. Fourth, your gifts were all very thoughtful. And then you go and write one of the nicest blogs about me. How did I get so lucky? I have to admit, you know exactly how to make me feel special and loved. Any way, I love you so much, you’re absolutely the best!

Ashley, happy birthday to you too! Obviously all the cool kids are born in January. It's not too late for you and Steve to move back to Texas. I heard it's suppose to be in the 70's here in Dallas this weekend. Let us know if we should start looking for a place for you to live.

Amy, thanks for the note. Yes, we were playing crack the egg and can you believe they were never able to crack me? Any way we can't wait to see you and Matt this summer too.

So I had a dream that you had your baby. I'm trying to figure out if it is just a pregnancy dream or if I am truly psychic (or one of those obnoxious people that calls twice a day, "Did you have your baby yet? Oh, okay. Bye.")

Hope that all is going well! You are almost done and I can't wait to see pictures of your beautiful little Ruby!

Oh - I forgot to say - my boys LOVE all the King's Castle Legos. That's all they ask for now for all their birthday/Christmas presents. They love to set them all up and have huge battles. They would love playing with Grant, which is why we need to live next to each other, darn it!
